  • Imaginative But History-Based Railroad Story for Children

This children's book is wonderful for a young train fan, a child who is fascinated by trains, or a boy or girl that enjoys imagining themselves in a unique setting but realistic setting. A young boy is in bed in the home of his grandparents, whose farmhouse is near a railroad track. The Hiawatha, a real, historic train from the glory days of passenger train travel, passes in the night. It creates a brief, but memorable, event for the boy, and it will do so for the young reader. The book is illustrated with realistic, but not "photographic," pictures that enhance the story but leave room for the imagination. I have purchased this book three times and given it as a gift. Each time it has been very well received and enjoyed. Definitely recommended.
