This three-disc set of SyFy's science fiction TV series "Warehouse 13: Season One" follows a pair of U.S. Secret Service agents that had saved the life of the President of the United States. They have been smuggled away into a secret location to retrieve lost supernatural objects and investigate any new ones they may find. "Warehouse 13: Season One" was written by Jane Espenson and D. Brent Mote for distribution to the SyFy television network. The science fiction TV show stars Eddie McClintock as Pete Lattimer, Joanne Kelly as Myka Bering, and Saul Rubinek as Artie Nielsen. The three-disc set features all 12 60-minute episodes of "Warehouse 13: Season One" for a total run time of 569 minutes. The unrated box set includes an English voice track and subtitles for both English and French. The Region 1 - U.S. and Canada DVD set also includes support for Dolby surround sound, and standard and widescreen NTSC video formats.

    Looks Promising, But Quirky

    The premise of the show is that the US government has stashed away millions of items associated with odd phenomena, magic, miracles - you name it - and hidden them in Warehouse 13. Located in the South Dakota Badlands, it's a huge cavernous building sure to give plenty to chew on during the duration of the show's run (however long that turns out to be). I've watched the pilot, and the presentation takes some serious stuff (a mild mannered law student going berserk and slashing his g.f. to death) and leavens it with some eccentric characters who are in charge of the Warehouse. Meanwhile, they've drawn a male-female pair of antiquities experts out to the factility and drafted them into service, traveling about and investigating odd goings-on related to the Warehouse's strange stash of ...

    Arty Facts

    Warehouse 13 explores the fantastic, the magic of certain historical artifacts and the appointed guardians who 'protect' us civlians from the adverse effects which often occur when exposed to them. 2 young federal agents are assigned to join the ranks of the guardians, this is the story of Pete and Myka. They report to Artie, the chief guardian of Warehouse 13, where the artifacts are safely warehoused. Artie tasks them with the recovery of newly discovered artifacts for safekeeping. Saul Rubinek as Artie plays a wonderful role as the big huggable teddy bear with a scary on-the-mark intellect and intuition. Eddie McClintock plays Pete, the overgrown boy with a tough enough exterior and great sense of humour. Myka ? She is attractive though her emotional range is very narrow, too monotone.

    This show is so good, I devoured Season 1 in two days!

    I first saw this show on SYFY when I had cable. Now that I've cut the cable "umbilical" (fans of WH13 will get the "quotes"), I'm getting all my favorite shows on DVD. This is one of them along with BSG and Eureka. I love the family-like dynamic that drives the show. The characters are like one big disfunctional family that actually work well together. Their differences actually complement each other well. The subject matter is also pretty cool. The "artifacts" they seek are fascinating in themselves. Though the articles themselves may be ficional, most actually connect to some very real historical figures. I love the way the show ties them in to reality. It's just a lot of fun to watch. I can't wait for Season 2.
