    Father of the bride

Steve Martin at his best. As father of the bride. With Diane Keaton as the wife. Everything runs smoothly until he finds out his little girl is getting married. Then it comes to a screeching hault for George Banks. A all time business owner. He gets by. Has a little saved. He reflects throughout this comedy on his little girl. They are invited to the inlaws. Where he sees a savings passbook. And sees they are filthy rich. The dogs attack George who is spying. One hilarious fiasco after a other I told the wedding day. Brian Pinchot. Guest stars as the wedding coordinator. He is fantastic. Martin short is also in the film to. The last dance he never gets. He never planned on seeing Annie leave so quickly on her wedding day. But there is one thing on Annie Banks mind before she leaves home

  • Father of the Bride

George Banks is an ordinary, middle-class man whose 21 year-old daughter Annie has decided to marry a man from an upper-class family, but George can't think of what life would be like without his daughter. He becomes slightly insane, but his wife tries to make him happy for Annie, but when the wedding takes place at their home and a foreign wedding planner takes over the ceremony, George must try to handle the fact that people grow up. This movie definitely has it's share in sentimentality, especially towards the end, pretty much most of the last thirty minutes, but it is still funny, and you don't lose interest in it. A great family comedy, it is pretty much funny for all ages. This is a good movie to sit down with the entire family and watch. Most people will enjoy it, and ...

  • The Whole Cast Delivers In This Remake

You won't be disappointed in this 1991 remake of the 1951 version of this movie. Steve Martin is perfect as George Banks, who can't believe his daughter Annie is old enough to get married one minute, and then makes a complete turnaround to give in to all the extremes of 1990 weddings (still true today.) With a price tag of $250 per head and a guest list of 500 guests, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to be blown away. And did I say that Diane Keaton is absolutely gorgeous as Nina Banks, mother of the bride. She is one actress that has become more beautiful with age. I have a vision of her now from this movie as she dressed for the wedding that wipes away that awful vision of her when she won her Oscar for "Annie Hall." She is a perfect foil to all of ...

  • Classic

I never get tired of this movie. Its the funny side of wedding planning from the Father of the Bride's point of view. My favorite role by Steve Martin. Diane Keaton is warm, and funny and endearing. Martin Short is hilarious as the wedding coordinator. Do not miss this one, it's a keeper.
