    Not really about how he was "Left For Dead"

    I knew by the end of the book that Weathers would have an epiphany and try to be a better person, but by the time it happened I didn't much care. His terrible treatment of his wife and children made him very unsympathetic and the way the story jumped around was jarring. If you're looking for info on the expedition where he was "left for dead:" you won't get much new info here. It's more his and his wife's life stories, which were uninteresting for the most part. There isn't even enough in there about his recovery that's worth reading. Very few details. NOT what I expected at all.
