  • Under the Tuscan Sun

Being one of my favorite movies, I watched it on channel 36/ Family and I really enjoyed it. My mother and I watched it and she liked it too, her not really liking these kind of movies often. The movie gave me that warm feeling inside, for Diane Lane portrayed her role as Frances Mayes, a woman that wants romance after a divorce. The cover of the movie tells all, Frances standing by a window that overlooks some of Tuscany, a village in Italy. The movie is pretty simular to the book, but I liked the book more than the movie, most of the time I like the books that the movies is based on more than the movie. Frances Mayes is a writer that lives in San Francisco. Living happily, she then gets a divorce. She is forced to move out and then moves into an apartment filled with depressed people ...

  • Fell in love with Tuscany, BEAUTIFUL film!

For many years every time I would pass this movie's box art I would almost pick it up. Then one day it made it's way to my dvd player at home... or via computer... doesn't matter. Somehow this has become the movie I watch for a 'boost' or just to view something pleasant after a taxing day. The scenery is exquisite...that alone is worth the watch. As a 'reformed film crew person' I appreciate the production values placed in every project. This effort has it all. Entertaining dialogue, rich characters, unexpected plot turns and a cameo special effect that stays with you well after the movie ends... a pleasant, enjoyable film to be watched time & again. It would be thrilling to see these characters now 7-10 years later, the villa so central to the story and the young married couple... are ...

  • Life after divorce.Beautiful movie and scenery.

This movie has heart breaks and love, laughter and tears. I would recommend if you haven't seen it.Frances (Diane Lane) is a writer in her mid-'30s who feels emotionally derailed after her divorce. Her best friend Patti (Sandra Oh) decides she needs some time away from her problems Patti gives Frances a ticket for a two-week tour of the Tuscany region of Italy... Frances finds an old villa in small town of Cortona, Frances.Well she stay?...or is it too much for her and she returns back to her life in the US? Guess you will have to see to find out.One of my favorite movies to finally own,it is a movie you will want to share with others and one you will watch over and over..

  • Under The Tuscan Sun (DVD, 2004)

A really nice story of lost love and renewal. Frnces is jilted by her husband for a younger woman. After crying over her situation for too long she decides to accept a free trip to Tuscany from her friends. She falls in love with the country and the people and on a wild impulse she buys a villa. She is lonely and longing for love and family. Throughout the long, slow, process of restoring the villa life goes on until the place is completed. Suddenly she realizes that as time goes bye, she has received her wish. This is a fun and lighthearted movie. The kind of movie that makes you smile and feel good.
