Product Information

George Romero's NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD is a low-budget, homegrown classic that had great difficulty finding a distributor at the time of its release in 1968, and has since become one of the most influential horror films of all time. (Aside from its visceral impact years before realistic gore became the fashion, the film is also important for its portrayal of a black man as the protagonist during a time when race was an extremely sensitive issue in the United States.) The plot is simple: seven people secluded in a Pennsylvania farmhouse face relentless attacks by reanimated corpses seeking to eat their flesh. The group, which includes a married couple and their daughter, a pair of young lovers, and an African-American man, try to keep their sanity as the living dead keep trying to enter the house. Radio news reports tell of the plague taking over the eastern United States, while the ever-decreasing band of survivors rapidly loses ground in the battle to both keep peace with one another and stay alive.

    Night of the Living Dead (1968): 3D Disclaimer

    Apparently, it is up to me to alert all Night of the Living Dead (1968) fans out there to avoid the 3D version being sold on Ebay, unless you have a Samsung or Mitsubishi television and have purchased special Razor 3D equipment. I bought the DVD thinking that it would also include the 3D glasses that usually accompany 3D products, but it actually requires additional equipment that can only be hooked up to the previously mentioned brands of TVs. Not that I'm knocking the Razor 3D technology, but I was under the impression that the DVD would include the necessary items for proper viewing. For further information, go to Razor3D.com d

    Simply amazing, one of my all-time favs

    Simply amazing, one of my all-time favs The main character is played to perfection and most of the supporting cast does an admirable job. NotLD is Zombie horror at it's finest. Romero had a small budget and little special effects and he still managed to make one of the scariest movies ever made. I still enjoy watching this movie every now and then just to remind myself what started it all and how far we've come. Final Verdict: 4/5 Rent or Buy?: If you're a horror fan this is a must buy. If you're just looking to see what all the fuss is about rent this one today. IF YOU FIND THIS REVIEW HELPFUL PLEASE REMEMBER TO VOTE. Thank you.

    waste of money.. rough print used fuzzy

    Very poor quality .. very rough print used in transfer.. 3D not very clear.. waste of time and money

    Night of the Living Dead (2003, DVD)

    I love this original clasic. I thought it would be great to see it in 3D. This movie is a 2D & a 3D. The 2D of this DVD is superb in every way BUT the 3D version is way past BAD. With your 3D glasses on you can not tell what is going on. The movie is so jumpy you can not enjoy it at all. Its not the DVD, its just the quality.

    I love the Living Dead, Romero movies.

    This is an all time great Dead movie. But the 3D is terrible. It is so shakey and blurry you can't see the movie without getting stomache sick. Stay with the original or the color version.
