    The Perfect Book for The Gardener and the Wannabe Gardner

    My mother always had a copy of this book. It tells you everything you need to know to grow the plants that will thrive in your area in a clear manner. Does it need a lot of sun? Will it grow in the shade? How often do I have to water it? Even what type of soil it needs! It is easy to look up the plants you are thinking about planting, plus has sections if you to attract bees, butterflies or plant things native to your area. Even those of us with not-so-green thumbs can have beautiful gardens with a little help from this book.

    Sunset garden books are the best!

    The Sunset Western Garden book has long been one of the best garden book series of all time. I picked up a (used), basically brand new hardcover book for about $5. There is so much information in this book and the series that you may never need another garden book at all. Areas are broken down into zones that are essentially micro climates. The plants are broken down into deep scientific detail and there are color photographs and maps. Also pictures of sample gardens and the history of the various types of plants under the same name. Best Buy for me after I moved to a new state and climate zone!
