    A great upgrade for blue box athearns.

    When buying old athearns, you'll find that most will have old and brittle if not just completely broken motor mounts. These new motor mounts are so great because they're easy to install and also easy to remove. With the original mounts, once you remove them it's all but impossible to reuse them. With these new mounts, you can use them over and over. They're Great!

    Nice upgrade.

    These new motor mounts are great. No more wiggling the white plastic ones, trying to get them seated all the way in the holes. These just push into the holes, then screws from the bottom. I'm hoping that these mounts don't dry out and get hard and brittle like the white ones. Time will tell. If you are doing any work on the engine that requires you to remove the motor, I would upgrade the mounts to these new black ones.

    Definite Improvement

    Definitely an improvement over the old screwless/press fit mounting pads for Athearn motors. I have a couple locomotives where the original pads went brittle and broke upon removal for motor cleaning. These new pads are direct replacements and being screwed in place as opposed to press fit makes them much more durable and easier to work with.

    Rigid screw down solid mounts

    These rigid plastic screw down motor mounts prevent any movement of the motor and will not dry out and crumble like the soft rubber mounts. These mounts allow easy motor isolation from the frame if you want to convert an old Athearn, etc. to RailPro or DCC.

    Athearn engine mounts

    This is a good replacement for the old style engine mounts. The old style dries out and becomes brittle, falls apart or won't stay in the mounting holes. These won't do that.
