Beats Chilton&Haynes, leaves a lot to be desired. The wiring diagrams Suck!
Lots of usefull info, but the pictures are not very clear and the wiring diagrams are almost unreadable. Would be nice if they were large, clear fold outs. Going back and forth between componet/location page and wiring diagrams can be frustrating. Pictures of the cam timing mark locations are so dark and blurry, it makes them almost useless. Too bad as the time and effort involved in putting this manual together had to be huge. After using factory service manuals for 50+ years, maybe I expect too much. Complete Idiot's Guide to Volvo Repair( but the pros love it too)
I'm a retired auto tech and in my 45 years working I used about every manual out there at one time or another. Bentley beats the rest by miles! Photos are clear and there are lots of them. Illustrations are provided where needed and are very well done, electrical wiring diagrams are clear and accurate, absolute BEST available and repair procedures are well organized and easy to understand. The authors take the time to not only explain diagnostic procedures for components but give you an education in the process as well by spelling out the theory of operation in simple non-jargon terms. If you are looking for a good gift idea for that grease monkey in your family you can't go wrong with a Bentley manual for their favorite toy. Extensive and well put together
A must have for any 240 owner. Way better then the Haynes. Has a lot of hard to find info that I could not find online or in other books. Wiring blueprints are hard to see, but with a good set of reading glasses you can see them. Very usable though because they are the Volvo diagrams and not some cheap recreation. This book is by far the best one I’ve ever used or seen for that matter. Now if I can just get my hands on that Volvo dealership one or do they use this handy book.A must have for any 240 owner.
