    1990s San Francisco

    Great views of SF. High flying Dot Com Startups, no cell phones yet & large desk top computers. Typical Eddie Murphy Movie. Foul language, shoot first & shoot some more but no paperwork. Great car chase-better than bullet.

    Pros Lots of action, wisecracking by Eddie's character, just enough love scenes to make the character human. Cons None This is a story of a hostage negotiator, who gambles, can't seen to maintain a stable relationship with his girlfriend, loves his dog, and can't make his car payments on time. Basically someone you can relate to. He pisses his searget off with his unconventional methods, but gets the job done. Although he was just getting his acting teeth, he does a pretty good job, of dealing with being estranged from his girlfriend, dealing with the murder of his partner as they try to solve the case of the jewel robber and breaking in a new partner. Murphy is at his best in this kind of film and I feel his career could have benefitted from more movies like this with just enough ...
