High Quality Old School Meter
Sure Digital Multi-meters are quick, easy to use, easy to read and easy to find...but there are somethings that a Old School Analog can do that a Digital can't. Analog can read pulses where a Digital will just blink. An Analog forces you to understand Settings that a Digital will do automatically, which is nice yet you have no idea how or why. In my Industry, I use a digital Multi-meter, an Amp clamp and other meters daily. I found this one on Ebay and it is in MINT Condition. I can't wait to test it and place it in a good case and take it in the Field with me.Sure Digital Multi-meters are quick, easy to use, easy to read and easy to find...but there are somethings that a Old School Analog can do that a Digital can't. A wonderful general purpose multimeter for your test bench.
Last time I used one of these meters was High School, it is a great test instrument for electrical and automotive testing on older cars. It is a reliable instrument and pretty rugged.Do not drop it as the case can crack or break if dropped. If you are going to take it out in the field get a good well padded case for it. Being about 20,000 ohms per volt loading on a circuit under test not a good choice for modern electronics with high impedance circuits, but for switches, relays, transformers, resistors etc. a great instrument to use. Also with an analog scale you can watch fluctuations in a signal easily. This meter was so clean it does not look anyone ever used it. It looks great on my test bench.
