    Poor video quality distracts from fine program.

    Let's talk about the DVD itself, not the excellent program. I have tried both the BluRay and standard definition versions of this program on my system and found both deficient. On my current release Sony player and Sony LCD display, the image staggers and stutters on on-screen motion. I think I'm seeing half-frame artifacts which are apparently caused by some fault in the disc's encoding. As I said, I've tried two different versions of the program and both were defective. They displayed the same problems when played on other systems. No other DVDs I've played have exhibited this problem. I can't recommend purchasing this DVD -- just download the show from Amazon, iTunes or Netflix.

    Downton Abbey

    Very well written plots and character development. Great acting! Beautiful castle setting. Beautiful costumes are true to the time period. A recent PBS fund drive ran all 6 seasons of Downton Abbey and for the first time I became hooked. Will definitely watch this series again and again.

    One of my favorites

    "Downton Abbey" Public Broadcasting's weekly series it full of rich characters and historic architecture. Those who like history and drama will be enthralled. The whole family will find something to become addicted too. I personally can hardly wait for the next years series!
