    Shure Stylus Force Gauge

    I care enough about the vinyl process to not automatically assume the counterweight readout on a turntable is correct. That said, I'm not nutty enough spend any more than this on a fancier, possibly slightly more accurate device. The Shure is elegantly simple and accurate enough to satisfy my urge to double check. Works as intended and costs little enough that having one is an absolute no-brainer.

    Shure SFG-2

    Didn't want a digital stylus force gauge for my analog setup. This was fast and easy and even though my Dual turntable has a built in guage it was dailed in a little on the heavy side.

    Shure SFG-2 Precision Stylus Gauge

    Shure is a known industry leader. I was a bit intimidated while reading about this item but in the end it was VERY easy to use. My vintage Pioneer turntable is up and running on the very first try. BUY IT !

    Expensive but very accurate

    For the price it sells for from all retailers is sad, it's been around for ever and does a really good job of making sure you have the right tracking weight. I guess its expensive because you only buy it once. Highly recommended.

    Essential for life of vinyl and stylus.

    I originally purchased this product at the Army PX back in 1972 and used while overseas. When I returned I must have misplaced it so now with it's replacement can continue using my turntables and cartridge/stylus correctly.
