About this product

Product Information

Cubix fans can take their robots on the road -- literally and figuratively -- with Cubix: Robots for Everyone -- Race 'N Robots for Game Boy Color. Similar in play to the same-titled versions for PlayStation and PC, this handheld game gives players the choice to race as Cubix, DonDon, Maximix, or Quixtreme, around various tracks in Bubble Town on a quest to be the ultimate racing champion.

Players can race in all directions on the track and are pitted against three competitor robots. Four levels, including "Beat Kolossal," are played sequentially on each track and progress is made by winning each race. Power-ups include collectible Solex, which increase the robots speed, Secret Keys that grant access to new tracks, and a Ghost power-up that allows the robots to pass through any track obstacles or opponents. New tracks become available with the completion of previous ones and upgrades can be made to the robots to increase agility and speed.

Upgrades made at the Botties Pit are only available after winning a race. Games can be saved via password after completing a level and any keys collected up to that point are also saved. Along with having fun, beating Kolossal on all tracks and unlocking the secret tracks are the game's objectives.

Exactly as described and photographed. I original packaging as described. For size of product the shipping was excessive- it did NOT have to come Priority Mail... Shipping cost more than the actual item.

  • Cubix is fun but steering is hard

Bought the game as I like games involving racing or robots. Since this one had both I figured it would be a hit. No totally so. The games graphics are fairly good and the game levels are okay but to steer the robots around any of the tracks is a bit of a challenge. Perhaps its just a learning curve issue. All in all not a bad game but not one of my favorites.
