I think the title "Step Up" fits the story. The main character did "step up" in the end.

I love this movie! Dancing is my passion, so I especially love dance movies! I loved the characters, and that it changed the lives for the better for the main 2 formerly lawless characters. But, I was especially saddened by the murder of the very young boy. It hit me especially hard because last year the 11 year old granddaughter of my across the street neighbors was brutally murdered/repeatedly stabbed by their son's live-in girlfriend. She was not her mother. Her jury trial is this month. The dancing was incredible!!!!!

  • Step Up Posted by CK-Auctions

Step Up isn't so much done well as well-done, as in overcooked. Its recipe is straightforward enough: Add two parts The Cutting Edge, two parts Dirty Dancing, one part Fame and stir briskly. The result is flavorless gristle. Being that this is the kind of movie where you know within the first 10 minutes every plot point that will follow, any subsequent entertainment value is going to come from appreciating the mechanics of how it's done. How's the chemistry of the leads? How's the dancing? Is the movie sexy? Charming? Funny? (The answers, in case you're interested: so-so / not enough of it / no / not really / inadvertently so). Tyler Gage (Channing Tatum), a hunky car thief in inner-city Baltimore, is busted for trashing a stage inside the Maryland School of ...

  • Decent, worth a rental but nothing more

Step Up I was semi-excited for this movie. I lika Channing Tatum and I like Jenna Dewan. Tatum was in Coach Carter so he's good at playing the young mixe up teen, and Jenna Dewan was in Take the Lead so she's good at dancing. You'd think the combination would be magic but it kinda fell flat. The makers of Step Up tried to cram far too much into this movie and it ended up being a blur to me. It was decent, but no that memorable. The special features are pretty good though, ok the Dance Competition special features were really good. If you're looking for a good dance movie watch this movie, but buy Take the Lead instead. Final Verdict: 3/5 Rent or Buy?: This one is just a rental for me, but it may be worth buying if you love watching people dance ...

  • Very Inspiring for Youths AND Adults of All Ages!!!!

A Very Inspiring and Uplifting Movie, for all age groups!! It reminds us that for what we want/seek in life, we have to Step Up and Go For It! It shows us that hard work along with dedication and devotion(not giving up) has its rewards and will help us to live "our" dream. The movie throughout its entirety is brought to us in a very Positive message. The movie does not contain any modern negativity as seen in many of todays movies(scenes of streetlife that produce a negative influence). The movie is "similar" to the screenplay of Dirty Dancing, but more closely resembles Save The Last Dance. If you or your youth loved Save The Last Dance, you will love this movie most definitely. The actors/actresses in this movie are unknown to us, but they played very important roles ...

  • Step Up is definitely a step up!!

Well, I am a softie for anything with music and dance in it. When i first saw it i thought that it may have been a waste of time to buy it, but every since i have seen it i cant get enough of it. I cant wait until the second one comes out. The story line is really great because ppl just dont know how much a lot of people in real life are like the male lead in the story. Very good movie..
