About this product

Product Information

Marvel's mutant superheroes make their NES debut in The Uncanny X-Men from LJN. Viewed from an overhead perspective, the game has you guiding a pair of heroes in a mission to stop Magneto's world-domination plans. Six characters are available in total: Colossus, Cyclops, Iceman, Nightcrawler, Storm, and Wolverine. Each is individually rated in power, endurance, speed, and willpower, with the second character in your two-man team controlled by the computer or a friend.

To take advantage of each character's abilities, you can switch between heroes by pressing the "select" button. A practice stage lets you familiarize yourself with the controls as you prepare for the main adventure. Battle creatures in five maze-like areas set in a factory, starship, and more. Punch, jump, fly, or use projectiles to neutralize enemies while avoiding traps and collecting power-ups. Each level ends with a boss fight, leading up to your secret showdown with Magneto.

    X-Men: It's truly Uncanny

The action, the music, the controls! The game has them! Unfortuntely, they didn't do any of 'em very well. But hey, you gotta play it to believe me.

    Don't work

Is advertised working. When I received it it was filled with dirt and dust and grime. The video game does not work. I'm very upset and dissatisfied. I wish the person just would have said it's filthy needs to be clean and hopefully will work, but he did not.

  • Eh... it's ok in small doses.

One of the notorious LJN games that people love to hate. If you see the rainbow stay away....not this time. I used to read X-Men in the 80's and got this game as a gift... and loved it. In an attempt to get all the games I had as a child I stumbled upon this one. I had the same feeling I did as a child. I enjoyed the 2 player game a lot, playing it for hours with friends, now i was playing it for hours with my children. Ok, yes, the AI is SOOOOO dumb. You have to constantly switch between characters just to help the AI navigate a turn or walk through a door...and yes, characters with shortrange attacks are worthless... ok OK YES the music is horrid, BUT I still enjoy the game. It's not Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, or Back to the Future, so I gave it a 3 instead of a -2. If you ...

  • Cool thing

I didnt even know that an xmen game was made for nes system. I just had to get it. when i took it home and played it , i was suprised to find such a fun game as outdated as it is, its still fun. Im a fan of the xmen series and truly i feel this is one game to add to the xmen video game colletion.

  • Not as great a game as you might imagine.

I didn't do much research on this game before I purchased it. I thought it would be more like Wolverine for NES, but I was wrong. This game is silly, confusing, seemingly pointless, and nearly impossible to play alone. Whoever originally made this game gave us crap under the good X-Men name. I hope the makers regret their actions deeply.
