    A Great Punk Album

    This is a great punk album. The recordings are a little raw but that only adds to the vibe. If you don't own a Misfits album this is the place to start. The songs are a combination of rockabilly and 50's rock served up fast and distorted and mixed with lyrical horror/sci-fi movie themes. Glenn Danzig's singing is fantastic...like a demented Elvis. The musicianship is primitive and full of energy. For my money this album and Walk Among Us are the only Misfits albums worth owning (except for Legacy of Brutality which is awesome but has a lot of the same tracks as Static Age). Albums like Evillive and Earth A.D. are just fast ugly noise that lack the style and humor of the early stuff.

    The Original

    This is the album that started it all for these guys. Dark, edgy, frightening, funny, strange, and wonderful are all words that come to mind when thinking about Static Age. Their ever so famous, "Last Caress" was recorded on this album which is the tune that most people think of when they hear MISFITS but this album has much more to offer than just one catchy song. If you like older, rougher, less refined pop/goth/punk then you'll find yourself coming back to this one time and time again.

    excellent cd by one of the world's great punk bands! Misfits were my favs in the 80s. recommended and highly rated! the actual content is GREAT! long live punk!
