  • Tim Burton's Corpse Bride (2006, Blu-ray Disc)

In the same vein as EDWARD SCISSORHANDS and NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, Tim Burton continues to combine wholesome comedy and creepy horror with this tale of a mild-mannered Victorian gentleman, Victor (Johnny Depp), who accidentally marries a mysterious corpse bride (Helena Bonham-Carter) instead of his intended, Victoria (Emily Watson). Victor soon discovers that the Land of the Dead holds more fun than frights and begins to fall in love with his innocent bride. Meanwhile, Victoria has been drawn into a scam of a marriage and may not escape with her life. As time runs out for everyone, can there be a resolution in which everyone gets what he or she deserves? Building on their past productive relationship (EDWARD SCISSORHANDS, ED WOOD), Tim Burton and Johnny Depp create a colorful riot of ...

  • Not quite Nightmare

The animation is excellent. Parts made me wonder if it was stop motion or CGI since the movement is so fluid. Not quite as good as Nightmare before Christmas, as something seems to be missing, maybe the music is lacking? The story is interesting, yet slightly offbeat and creepy. Has the same visual style as all Tim Burton movies, and with many of the same talented performers, this is a fun and visually exciting movie. There are even a few references to animation of the past (Disney's skeleton dance anyone?). And maybe some similarities in charachter design ( I swear the mother in law to be looks like Lady Tremaine from Cinderella, with a Burton twist) Especially love how the underworld is more colorful than the "real" world.

  • A 'must have' movie for everyone in the family.

This is an excellent movie; story line, music, table-top animation execution, use of color - and lack of color, etc. The only thing that could make this movie any better would be a re-release in theaters and DVD in 3D. A 'must have' movie. I bought the Blu-Ray copy to replace my missing standard DVD. I've watched this Blu-Ray copy but didn't look to see if the included extra features are the same as the standard DVD. Hopefully they are as the extras are as good as the movie itself.

  • Classic gothic Tim Burton feel.

I never watched this movie when it originally hit DVD, but after buying a new HD setup, everyone said this is a great movie to show off the new set, they were right, this Blu-ray is so unbelievable, there are parts that look like you could grab the charactor right off the screen. I wouldn't say this is favorite movie, but I am a 25 year old father, and still was able to watch it with my daughter and enjoy it.

  • Exactly my expectation

It was the same as the description, it really was brand new and sealed. The disc worked of course and I was happy to get it at a nice price. I’m very happy with my purchase. 3
