    Black Cloud in Winnebago

    I teach on the Winnebago Indian Reservation and my students like this movie. I find it branches out on perhaps one tangent too many and incorporates some worn out clichees, but overall it's not bad. The acting is believable and although the script could use some work it doesn't stumble like some niche releases I've come across lately. Why the competition couldn't have centered around grass-dancing or something similar other than boxing is beyond me, I suppose not violent enough? Chris Eyre has some definite talent, I just hope he can break free from the marketing department someday and do his thing. Smoke Signals spoke to my heart and I'm not even Native; in comparison Black Cloud entertains and not much more, but that's just my never-to-be humble opinion. Marc LaDue

    Has a Lot of Heart!!!

    'Black Cloud' is a story about discovering yourself and overcoming hardships to complete your goal. The movie takes a look at what it is like to be a Native American on a reservation. The story is powerful, inspirational, and will make you really care about the characters. The boxing is a big plus. The only problem is that some of the plot left holes at the end of the movie and you would like to know what happened to some of the characters afterward. This is a great movie that touches the soul and a lot of people can relate to these characters in different ways. Don't pass this one up. 4.5/5

    Black Cloud

    This is a great movie.Its very action pack. Rick Schroder was great in the movie and played his charcter very well. Tim McGraw also gave a great performance. He is great as an actor as well as a singer. Awesome. Black Cloud was a very real charchter and it was done well. Love the hawk it was great.
