Best deck I've ever used and I've owned MANY nice decks
24-bit DSP with 60X4 internal power sounds fantastic (Make sure you use the recommended 10-guage power wire though). The durability along with the super-easy usability is freaking awesome. I can change pretty much anything with only a few button pushes...it's very intelligently laid out. I've tried others like Eclipse and Pioneer, and always come back to Alpine. These olders models were also made before Alpine started requiring additional adapters to "unlock" sound processing adjustments, so I honestly believe this CDA7894 is one of the best they've ever made. Plus, the motorized angle face is really cool and convenient, and you can change the color of the buttons from green to amber. Super-sexy cosmetic as well. Classiest looking deck I've owned. Excellent Alpine and great deal if you find a good one MOST are NOT !!!,Be gentle they are over 10 yrs old .
I'm a long time audiophile as well as a 20+year high end installer and tech .All that being said I have bought several 7894's mostly for parts so I'd have them .But since I have written this everyone who has a ratty scratched up dirty 7894 tries to sell it for $150.00 sorry they're not worth that ,almost all I have seen lately are only worth about $40.00Theyare only worth$$$if they are in really good condition,spotless and buttons not all rubbed off!!! OK that being said,they have a good overall sound quality , however I always use amps and turn off the internal amp don't think you're going to get 60 x 4 although they have good power for a radio especially with the built in Xover . Good overall deck NOW FOR THE MAIN REASON I USE THEM is they are a good head unit to modify I have rebuilt ... Best alpine cd player deck.
I researched everywhere for a deck. If your looking to buy an alpine deck, that sounds good , 3 angle tilt, changes color from green to amber to match your dash and etc. This is a 2003 model deck but it is way better than new alpine decks in electronic stores. If you can get your hands on one of these dont even think twice. Best deck on the market, so good that I would'nt even trade it for an indash.I researched everywhere for a deck. The one I received doesn't look like the one pictured. The one I received , the screen is barely visable and not visable at all on a sunny day especially if you turn off the Amber color and the face of screen looks like it's been taken off or coming loose because there's bubbles behind it.
