  • Top critical review

Bad reprint of the South Bend book

The price is cheap enough, I guess. This is a very poor reprint of the South Bend "How To Run A Lathe" book. Nowhere in the ad does it say that it is a reprint. The pics are poor and very dark, very difficult to see what is supposed to be there. I have a copy of the original and it is FAR superior to this poor copy. Buy the real one.

  • Tip of the iceberg!

Many of us out here appreciate finely made things. If you ever wondered how those things were made and had time and a suitable place to ponder such things, this book will awaken the can do spirit in every person. Is it enough? Hardly, but it is a beginning and a good one.

  • A must read

If you are a machine operator, machinist or hobbyist then this is a good book to have in your repertoire.

  • Basic but uses old technology

OK book if you have never operated a metal lathe before. Lathes depicted in the book are very old but it gets the point across.
