In this world live two uniquely talented human beings, Law Enforcement agent Verkan Vall and his wife Hadron Dalla. Together they are ready to embark on a long-overdue vacation to a world with no violence and no crime-a world so boring that there isn't even a police force. However, at the last minute Vall and Dalla are called before a Paratime police magistrate who sends them off (much to their dismay) to an alien world rife with rumors of an illegal slave trade. And soon after arriving, Vall and Dalla find themselves up to their necks in danger and intrigue. You see it's one thing to pinpoint a criminal hiding in a population of millions, but trying to track down a gang hiding out on one of billions of probability lines is another thing altogether!
