Best Movie and it is true!

There could not have ever been a more moving and true story then this one. The movie was amazing and the acting was perfect. King George VI was one of the most amazing rulers in the history of all nations. He was not only a great ruler under some of the worst conditions but he was indeed a great person. You will love this movie and it does not move your heart to tears and pride, ... nothing will. God save the king, ... how true. Love this movie!!!!!

  • the king's speech

when england's throne is suddenly thrust upon him, amidst royal family scandal and impending world war, king george vi (colin firth) must overcome a lifelong, debilitating speech impediment to lead his nation. after his iron-willed, compassionate wife elizabeth (helena bonham carter) secretly enlists an eccentric speech therapist (geoffrey rush) the two men forge and unlikely friendship that will ultimately empower the monarch to find his voice, inspire his people and rally the world. based on an inspiring story, the king's speech has been universally hailed as a "masterpiece". the majestic cast is overwhelming. a great movie to watch and worth picking up and enjoy.

  • Characters are engaging and totally believable

I'm a big fan of Colin Firth, and with him paired together with Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham-Carter is almost as if you are witnessing the actual events surrounding the abdication of the throne by his brother, and the subsequent crowning of King George VI (Colin) Watched this immediately after receiving. Will definitely put this in my "watch again" folder!

  • The Kings Speech - A perfect historical drama!

Brilliant performances are the centerpiece of this historical drama. Colin Firth's understated portrayal of King George VI battling his speech problem and the torment of being trapped in a very public persona is masterful. Geoffrey Rush (who you will remember as Barbosa in Pirates of the Caribbean)also gives an indelible performance as Lionel Logue, the unconventional speech therapist who draws the king out of his shell. Add Helena Bonham Carter, Michael Gambon, Claire Bloom, and Guy Pearce and you know why this film is a Best Picture winner. Sit back and enjoy!
