In THE HONEYMOONERS--an update of the classic 1950s television comedy that starred Jackie Gleason--Ralph Kramden (Cedric the Entertainer) is a New York City bus driver and irrepressible dreamer whose mind constantly whirs with new plans to get rich. But six years after meeting his wife, Alice (Gabrielle Union), none of his schemes have resulted in anything more than clutter in the closet of their Brooklyn apartment. When Alice's dream of buying a home looks like it could become a reality, the Kramdens team up with their best friends who live upstairs, Ed (Mike Epps) and Trixie (Regina Hall), to amass the $20,000 for a down payment before a shady land developer (Eric Stoltz) beats them to it.THE HONEYMOONERS gives a few nods to the original series, like Ed's trademark hat, and a sweet twist on Ralph's signature line: instead of threatening to knock Alice to the moon, he promises to take her there someday. Cedric the Entertainer is an ebullient screen presence, revealing the good heart beneath Ralph's swagger as he struggles to keep from letting Alice down yet again. With its talented cast and zippy script, THE HONEYMOONERS is a comedy anyone can enjoy.

    The Honeymooners

    New York City bus driver Ralph Kramden and his feisty wife Alice, struggle to make ends meet. Despite Ralph's many get-rich-quick schemes/motivational speaker tape series, they've managed to save some money and, along with their best friends Ed and Trixie Norton, they seem to have almost enough money for a down payment on a Brooklyn duplex. However, when Ralph decides to try to impress Alice by making up what he's lost and augmenting their savings with another of his crazy schemes, he winds up losing all their money and his marriage to boot and it takes all his determination and love for Alice to get things on track again. The movie itself is quite entertaining and Cedric, Mike Epps, and John Leguizamo gave very funny and likable performances. This movie accomplishes everything a good ...

    It was alright

    Cedric the entertainer should have made this a little funnier, along with Mike Epps. They've both played funnier roles than these. Still a pretty good movie though. Can't really do too much with a re-make.

    I BUY SEVERAL DVD’S AND CD’S ON EBAY EVERY WEEK, I ALSO SELL SEVERAL, ONCE I HAVE WATCHED A MOVIE, I EITHER KEEP IT FOR MY PERSONAL COLLECTION OR I RESELL IT. TO ME THIS IS A WAY OF SEEING MOVIES I WANT TO SEE AND GETTING SOME OF MY MONEY BACK TO BUY MORE. I CONSIDER MYSELF TO BE VERY OPENMINDED AND I DON’T GET OFFENDED EASILY. THEREFORE IN MY REVIEWS NUDITY, PROFANTY, AND VIOLENCE DOES NOT MAKE ME LIKE A MOVIE OR SONG ANY LESS. THIS MOVIE WAS AWFUL, THERE WAS NO PLOT, IT WAS NOT FUNNY AT ALL TO ME.
