Very good product with a couple of big misses
The Netatmo Welcome's biggest advantages are presence w/facial recognition, homekit support and no additional cloud fees required. These were all selling points for me. Now the disadvantages: lack of Alexa support, no built in speaker (think D-Link Omna). The upcoming doorbell product addresses the built speaker, but lacks facial recognition. I'm not quite sure why Netatmo can't release outdoor products with full facial recognition capability with 2-way audio or indoor products with 2-way audio? The Butterfly SmartCam will soon be released and have all of this, but it will also force you in to undesired residual cloud fees of $9.99/month. Ultimately, you will need to decide what is most important for your security needs AND what ecosystem you will settle on. I have already resigned ... Note, I am also using Homebridge on Raspberry PI to incorporate my Axis cameras in to my security set up. This allows me to use Homekit to mostly unify my set up. The only disadvantage of this is lack of PTZ ability.

Good but not perfect.
Video quality is decent but could be better. Facial recognition doesn't really work too well. It recognizes my son maybe 30% of the time, and me even less. It usually just says unknown face, or movement detected. No monthly fee is why I bought this and it does a nice job of recording movement. But instead of it using facial recognition to decide when to record, I would prefer using geofence to set it to start recording when I leave the house, and stop recording when I get home. When Privacy Rules All
Facial Recognition technology is starting to become a commodity in home security video surveillance. Most do this either with software on an expensive NVR platform, or all your video is uploaded and processed in the cloud. Netatmo processed on the camera itself, so you can drop the recording before it is ever uploaded. The profiles (facial data) are stored on each camera, so you do need to spend time training each camera. Company appears to use Agile dev cycle, bringing constant and steady updates. I am looking forward to more API actions with iHome and Wink, particularly around tying into if home or away, but also for lights. If not, I will probably sacrifice some privacy for functionality.
