    Young Sherlock Holmes

    Lost my first copy in moving. Had to have this to watch with family and friends. Rivals the first Indiana Jones in adventure, fun and just plain WOW. And it should, as its an early work of Stephen Spielberg's (please forgive spelling). A very happy gift to Holmes fans everywhere and to the world in general. In case I didn't express my feelings well enough, "I LOVE IT." Sandy H.

    We have had this unsung gem on VHS and decided it was time to buy it on DVD. My wife and I think that this is an excellent, underrated film that was unjustly criticized for using lots of CGI (which normally would not be necessary for a Sherlock Holmes film) and for having a sacrificial sequence that was similar to the one in &quot;Indiana Jones &amp; the Temple of Doom&quot;. However, this movie has an extremely clever and well-thought out script by Chris Columbus: it imagines a first-time meeting between Holmes and Watson in boarding school where they get entangled in their first mystery, and explains the reasons for all of Holmes trademarks - the pipe, seersucker, celibacy, etc. It is a well-paced, well-acted film in which the special effects are cunningly integrated into the ...

    Young Sherlock Holmes

    If you&apos;ve every wondered how the Greatest Detective of all times got his start, then this is the must see movie for you. Taking place during the teen years of this super slueth, Young Sherlock Holmes put a spin on the detective&apos;s life answering many of the questions one might have concerning Holmes&apos; beginnings. It also recounts the first meeting of Holmes and Watson. It&apos;s a great story of The larger-than-life Detective which completely entertaining not unlike other great movies such as Indian Jones and Tombraider. I&apos;m glad it was available and very happy with my purchase. It is an adventure which the whole family can enjoy. If you get the chance to watch it you should.

    I am a Sherlock fan for many, many years. This is just another pastiche, only in movie format and it gives you another look at the world’s best detective.

    A cult favorite that holds up perfectly well today. Charming fun.

    One of my absolute favorite movies from childhood. Even at the time I knew it was a Temple of Doom ripoff, but it&apos;s just so much fun. The acting is terrific, especially Nichole Rowe as a very interesting Sherlock. Though obviously canon has Holmes &amp; Watson meeting as adults, their interactions here really do recall Doyle&apos;s original characterizations. And the references to canon are charming. Make sure to look out for the first fully CGI character in the form of a stained-glass warrior -- created by a very young Pixar.
