About this product

Product Information

The second WWII flight simulation in the series, Microsoft Combat Flight Sim 2: WWII Pacific Theater focuses on the action between Japanese and U.S. fighter pilots in the Pacific. Like the earlier Microsoft Combat Flight Sim WWII Europe Series, extensive effort was devoted to making all aspects of this game as realistic and historically accurate as possible. The planes, locations, and missions are all based on actual battles and events. Several extensive interviews were conducted with both Japanese and American pilots in an effort to provide the game with an honest cultural context and a realistic feel.

Players have several mission options and many planes from which to choose, including the American P-38F Lightning, F4F-4 Wildcat, F6F-3 Hellcat, and F4U-1A Corsair or the Japanese A6M2 Zero, A6M5 Zero, and NiK2 George. Microsoft invested considerable effort to make the planes look, sound, and behave as much like the real thing as possible. Like most flight sims from the company, Microsoft Combat Flight Sim 2 is ready to accept expansion packages and add-on missions with minimal difficulty. These are often available for sale in stores or for free online, developed by third-party companies and ambitious gamers.

I ordered this card for my little cousin who absolutely adores the crochet style pokemon cards. My order came in undamaged during transit as it was packaged very securely. The price was extremely fair as well which was a major bonus. I highly reccomend this seller!

One of the better flight simulators.

I already have CFS2, I bought this and another CFS2 set as backups. The game does play great and you can add on to the game from many flight sim sites planes, utilities ,scenery etc. to make gameplay more varied. It was a good value for the used game The new game was a bit pricey, but was it still brand spanking new.

  • Top critical review

Enjoyed FS2 years ago when it first came out.

Won't run on Windows 7 64-Bit. Need to research the problem. Won't run in Windows XP (SP3) compatibility mode. I'll find a machine that it will work on. I'm an IT Network Manager and have the resources to get this running. I've had similar problems with PainKiller and System Schock 2.

  • It is a good simulator game, but

The game is great with very good detail of the aircraft, terrain and the various water depths. 1) the aircraft flies like the stick connections are loose and the plane is erratic in flight and a true play be it war or a civilian aircraft, its flight smooth and not going in any direction. this is an example of a smooth flight without holding on to the stick and I am taking this from the autobiography of Colonel Gregory(Pappy)Boyington he would set up four strings to the stick with one attached to him and maintain the plane level in flight while taking a nap to a mission and when he senced a change he would tap one of the strings and bring his aircraft back in position. I would be willing to bet that a plane could be flown for some minute without holding onto the stick once in level ...

  • The way it should be...

Combat Flight Simulator II has it all.. it can be mod-ed to the extreme. Include all the airports of Flight Sim 98, and the Planes of Combat Flight Sim 1. Indeed, landing and take off from the deck of a carrier is critical to replay the Doolittle missions. Finally, land your PBR on the water. Create your own sceanrios.. I made an "IronClad Mission", Civil War boats..not even airplanes, works great.. loads of fun. My old disks sustained damage, these are the replacements. I caution that the game probably won't work on anything newer than Windows XP.

  • Buy COMBAT FLIGHT SIM-2 PACIFIC THEATRE

I have COMBAT FLIGHT SIMULATOR WWII EUROPE SERIES and I wanted the PACIFIC SERIES. I love the old WWII planes to begin with and these games were the only way to actually fly them. The attention to detail is pretty good overall. Sometimes it feels like I'm actually flying the real thing. Having the right joystick also helps. The bad thing is the comic book look of parts of the game. When you look at the box, it's all serious but then you look at the cover of the pilots manual and it's a comic book cover. Same as the game. In the EUROPE SERIES, they put forth better effort on information. With this one, I think they got a little lazy and made it into a comic book. The action is the same. Realism. The full effect of flight, from taking off a WWII aircraft carrier to taking off from a land ...
