Legendary pioneers "Dyno" Don Nicholson, Jack Chrisman, Bill Shrewsberry, Butch Leal, Dick Landy, Arnie Beswick, Phil Bonner, Gas Ronda, Don Gay, Sox & Martin, Richard Petty, and many other A/FX stars were instrumental in the development of the funny car as it morphed from a heavy production car into seven-second 250mph aerodynamic fiberglass, tubular chassis missile.     DRAG RACING FUNNY CARS

    This book is crammed full of pictures of the early days of Funny Car racing. I love the vintage Funny Cars and the pictures in each decade as the author takes you through the history of the Funny Car. To me this is what made the class of Funny Cars, not the mega dollar corporate cars you see today. The cars actually looked like the cars they were representing. A Vega looked like a Vega, a Barracuda looked like a, well you get the idea. If you are a fan of early drag racing Funny Cars i highly recommend you add this book to your collection.

    this is a great book that's bring back memories how drag racing was back in the days when i spent time with my father as a young boy who use to take me out to the track to see these racing stars and there hot rod racing down the strip the good ole days Sunday Sunday

    Funny car research

    It has great color photos but not enough indept photos such as close ups of all the cars but again it is like most of the ones I have.

    great photos, i loved the stories that went along with the photos. the only thing that i would change about the book is, i would have liked to have more colored photos.
