    Star Trek Director's Edition Movie Set

    I love Star Trek and these movies with Kirk and Picard are the best in the franchise and true canon. I decided to have the DVD set in the Special Collector's Edition because the Blu-rays do not offer that on all the 10 films.

    Good price, crappy case.

    The hinged case came broken, the hinge part so now the discs flop within the case and they need to be crammed in the case to be put away. A real pain. I will repackage them. The discs themselves play well. For the price I decided to deal with the broken case.

    DVD Box Set Star Trek - The Motion Pictures

    I grew up on the original Star Trek series on TV, and like many girls my age, couldn't decide which of the main male characters I was most in love with. I was not ultimately enthralled with the spin off series that came later; it seemed that they were trying way too hard, and the original innocence of the story was lost. Later, when the movies started coming to the theater, it was like a gift to be able to see the original characters in their original roles, and for the most part the innocence of the story was carried to the movies as well. I have to admit to having seen only the first four of the movies, so the opportunity to purchase all ten on DVD was just too good to pass up.     Timeless movies

    Star Trek is a classic sci-fi show that has been around for many years, and most people are familiar with the characters. I got a great deal on buying all the Star Trek movies all at once. There are a few I haven't seen yet, and I don't mind rewatching ones that I have seen. Star Trek usually makes good story lines in their shows and movies, too.

    Star Trek--The Motion Pictures

    Lets face it, these movies started as a reward to the fans of the first TV series. I've owned them on VHS tape, laser disc, and now DVD. The DVD format is much better than the previous ones and the quality of these films is first rate. The music is also terrific and lush, featuring real composers and real orchestras. If you are a fan of ST:TNG you will enjoy some of the later movies with Picard as captain instead of Kirk. What I appreciate about all of them is the vivid and up-to-date treatment of the series and their optimistic view of man's social growth. I enjoy a Bug-Eyed-Monster as much as the next guy, but the most real effects still don't elevate a movie out of the comic book or fantasy niche. Only Star Trek deals with the future of mankind and that makes it a higher level of ...
