The Conway Twitty Story
This is a great book for all fans of Conway it is an autobiography that he personally was apart of & permitted. All fans know he led a a fairly private life, well this book will open that life & with his own words explain his life. I have read it 2 times. I am so proud to know that a person who captured me by his voice alone many decades ago when I was in the 5th grade, never knowing anything, how he looked, just his voice; turned out to be such a descent person on & off stage. Many thought of him as a sex symbol, not me I was just amazed @ the vocal range of this man. I bought anything I could have of his never knowing anything about him & first seen when he appeared on "Hee-HAW." The book tells of his many struggles to get where he got. A real rags to riches story, but a man who never forgot his roots, his family, or his fans.Who through many closed doors made it & helped others make it. His passing was a shock to all his fans & family. All will appreciated the story of Conway; who worked a song like he was the song. Now sadly gone but not forgotten' I highly recommend if you see this book get it. One more thing I like to add; though "Twitty City" no longer exist & we all know why. His children who have been through so much are still keeping his memory alive w/the help of his never ending fans. I have bought many new CD's that are exact copies of his albums...thank you to his children who finally have the rights to share with us some CD's that are as I stated before. Very good book about music. Review: I bought book three weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the number of pages available on this inexpensive book. The book is perfect for carrying in a pocket and the pictures have a pretty good lifespan. . My only complaint is that the index system on the book makes you click four times before you can find someone the person in the address book or set an alarm, or perform a additional functions. Other books I've owned have simpler menus and get you to important features easily. Overall, I'd recommend the book if you're on a budget. Or if you plan to crash show business and get rich like Elvis and Twitty did.Very good book about music.
