An iPhone records better than this item
I bought this recorder thinking that I was purchasing a product that would give me crystal clear, broadcast quality sound. Previously, I have been using an Olympus WS-825, and was having some quality issues. I bought a better mic for it, and it was still OK. So, with my purchase of this product, I was in hopes that the quality would be outstanding! Was I ever wrong! There is a background noise when I record that is screechy and distorted. It is really distracting! I was highly disappointed, and wish I could return the item--but it was an open box item so, I have no recourse but to keep it. What I did instead was to plug the quality microphone into my iPhone 8+, and use the voice memos app to record. Quality? YES. Distortion? NO. My only wish is that I had done this before I purchased ... I bought this recorder thinking that I was purchasing a product that would give me crystal clear, broadcast quality sound. Easy To Use Recorder.
I bought this for simple recording tasks. Mostly for electric guitar riffs and songs. The best thing about this model is the ease of use. You can easily record, delete, overwrite. I give it 4stars for my needs. It has a good owner's manual, and even without that it doesn't take much time to figure out how to use it effectively. The 16GB card that came with it provides more than enough space for me. The sound during playback is pretty low. I plan on hooking up to a pc anyway so that's not a big issue. High Quality Recording for Recording My Shows
Im a musician and I use this to record my shows. I get really high quality recordings to send to my duo partner. The best portable audio recorder I have ever owned. The peak reduction feature is absolutely awesome. I know good sound and this is it! It's also easy to use!

I have tried a lot of hand held recorders and I think that this one is the best VALUE out there. If you are looking for a great straight-ahead recorder and do don't need (or don't want to) use external microphones, you can't get better than this for less than 100 bucks. Great sound from the on-board mics and easy to use. I am using this for music recording and sound effects gathering.
