  • The Reader is perfectly named

This book is about a boys first love / love experience. He goes through several years of life and realizes everything is compared / measured to his first love. It has historical value in helping this generation understand the civilian side and jewish holocaust side of the third riech. It does make you question your present values, enriches alot of deep thinking if you were put in the SS War and what you would do either for or against the holocaust victims. Seeing Germany during this time will make you see that there are both sides to every story. I liked the book because it taught me that by reading, it will enrich and allow me to understand alot more, becoming more educated, so that life's decisions can have more educated answers (to the deep questions in your own head). I disliked ...

  • The Reader

I selected this book for reading because it had been an Oprah Book Club pick, and because it was a #1 National Bestseller. Within the first 25 pages of the book, the author made me laugh! The key to the answer was in the title, but I missed the clue until the book began drawing its curtains for its quiet ending. Make time for this book. Don't judge Hanna too harshly until you know the deep, black secrets her soul carries. I respected and loved Hanna in the end. I will not soon forget ...

  • A great read

I really enjoyed reading the book behind the movie. Of course it explained a lot of stuff the movie didn't explain. I recommend this book.
