After seven lucky years in the get-rich-quick video game business, Nintendo's Wario is taking on some new employees. Players can go to work for the grumpy garlic-lover, creating their own fast-paced mini-games in WarioWare: D.I.Y. Following the themes of earlier WarioWare games (on GBA, GameCube, and Wii, as well as DS), D.I.Y. casts players as junior "microgame" designers, working at the studio run by Mario's famously greedy counterpart. The game's quick-fire microgames -- mini-games that can be played completely through in just a few seconds -- are similar to those in earlier editions of WarioWare, with lo-tech graphics and sound effects, and one simple goal in each activity. After learning the basics in the game's tutorial mode, players can head to the "My House" area, where they design their own games. Virtual developers can choose from a wide selection of graphics, in the diverse styles featured in previous WarioWare games. To add music, players can hum or sing into the DS microphone, and the software will convert their melodies into game music, with the option to use different voices and effects. Like any real game producer, Wario's only real worry is the bottom line, so players' final job is to head to the "My Shop" area, where they can design their own market-friendly game cassettes, with hand-drawn artwork and other decoration. DS WarioWare: D.I.Y. players can also connect to the downloadable WiiWare version of the game.

    If you don't like their stuff, shut up and do better!

    The WarioWare series is always a blast, and making your own might be just as fun! Not only that, but they've even got some premade microgame stages for those who aren't into the creation aspect. My only gripe is that I wish there was more freedom in the creation, like being able to set time limits or make boss microgames. Inputs other than a single tap, like dragging across the screen, would have also been great. Some value is also lost due to the inability to download games nowadays. Regardless, this is a fun little game for anybody who likes WarioWare, game development, or in my case, both!

    Great product, should be more like it.

    Awesome product, my kid can't put it down. It has a tutorial to get you started, but as you learn the software the making of games gets much better and complicated. Wario D.I.Y has excited my son about making games and now we are taking him to a workshop for just that. Not omly a game, but a springboard for his future.

    Great game for my 9 year old son

    My 9 year old son loves this game. He is a big fan of any Mario games so WarioWare DIY has been a big hit with him. He plays it alot. He like to make his own games on it.
