This was the most lovingly packaged item I have ever recieved. The books were wrapped with such care that I felt like I was opening a gift from a close friend as I unwrapped it. Included in the package was a handwritten postcard wishing me well and two Detroit Tigers baseball cards (very thoughtful, as I live in Detroit) - totally unsolicited. It goes without saying that the books were in good condition, as described. Flappincat, I can say with confidence, is a very good person.10/10 recommend.

  • 1 Dead in Attic by Chris Rose

If you love New Orleans this book is a must-read. Composed of articles written by Times-Picayune writer Chris Rose, it is a book that explores the effects of Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath on the people of New Orleans. Some of the articles talk about the horrors that occurred in the wake of the hurricane; other articles deal with the long term issues faced by the victims of this national tragedy. The book is full of accounts of very human experiences. Some of the articles are very heavy; I had to take a break to cry a number of times as I read the book. Other articles will make you giggle as only the human experience can.

I purchased this book because Chris Rose was speaking at a nearby college. I wanted to hear him and have him autograph this book. I was not purchasing it because of any particular love of the subject or author.
