    Fantastic, reliable, versatile 35mm film camera.

    Canon EOS-1V is a great film camera. it does have plenty of electronic components that might deter some hot headed "manual only" peeps, but for my money it's just b-e-a-utiful camera that allows me to mix my shooting style. I can do the full auto, aperture priority, or manual if it tickles my fancy. it holds just right in my hands, weather sealed, . It can shoot in burst mode ... yes! you can ak-47 this thing at will from the heap if you want, with your eyes closed. You can swap grips to get from 3FPS to I think close to something like 10FPS. and it is last film camera that Canon produced before going on a dark side (DSLR).

    Rediscover the lost art of film photography

    The Canon line of cameras is tried and true. These things are built like tanks and with a bit of care and maintenance will last a lifetime. They are one of the most popular entry level SLR cameras to date. They offer the beginner and novice a wide range of attachment options and affordable lenses. With the AE-1's light meter it can be used in (A) or automatic mode for someone that just want's to point and shoot with very good results. It can also be worked in a completely manual format for those looking for a more artistic form of film photography. It has a broad range of lenses from macro to long telephoto but the average enthusiast can get away with one or two lenses and have a great time.     Canon Eos-1v HS verses Nikon F5,Leica R5

    I have Leica R-5, Nikon F-5, Canon 50E cameras(amongst others)& most highest quality lenses. Decided to upgrade the Canon camera.Bought a used Canon Eos-1v HS Like the 1)Bright,neutral color viewfinder better than F5 2)Speedy AF point selection(9point mode)better than F5.3)Looks nicer than F5 4)Unobstucted screen(EC-R)5)excellent custom features.5)Lens quality much more visible now! 6) Battery consumption amazingly low ! Dislike 1)AF focus not as positive as the F5 2)AA battery magazine mechanical fit poorer 3)motor wind after shutter release rough & noisy 4)Shutter vibration damping not as good as F5. Without the HS drive the vibration from the shutter limits handholding steadiness (though not as bad as the R-5 )Leica R5 has the best view finder(full microprism)-razor edge focus ...

    Great Product! I will recommend this camera to a friend in need!

    When I starting using it, I got a hang of it. I was actually recommended by a friend to get this as a first choice to get for a 35mm film camera. I needed to get it for my photography class. So I bought one to work on with. I am glad to use this camera. It does have nice features on it, but I can't seem to figure it all out at once. It is easy to hold, but without the neck band to carry over your neck for safety feature is kinda hard to hold due to the weight. I actually like the small features it gives to show the shutter speed that goes with what aperture, instead of deciding it all manually.

    Didnt expect much...

    however, for the price, I'd say it was well worth it. 3 different lenses all perfectly intact, although one of the covers for the lens came broken, probably the shipping/mailmans fault..Haven't tried it out yet, but the old batteries from the flash from the speedlight flash leaked out and hardened, which makes it difficult to remove the cover and clean/replace it. Dust was still on the camera haha but thats fine. Thats what you get for ordering something so old. The two straps it came with are great, and I can't wait to test this bad boy out for my photography class. Great starter kit.
