Reviews
Teachers rejoice: a great new tool for teaching idioms has arrived. ... Richly elaborate illustrations are full of details that young readers will enjoy discovering with each subsequent reading. ... While the meanings of most of the idioms can be determined through context clues, this is still sophisticated enough for adults to share with a younger audience.

  • Lots to do with this book

This is a beautifully illustrated book about idioms. The illustrations are detailed, humorous, and just amazing! I bought 2 books. One to read and share with students and the other to cut apart and laminate. Those pages can be put in centers for students to read, figure out what the idiom means and how they might use it in writing or conversation. Another fun aspect of this book is that there is a monkey on each page. Some are obvious but others are quite hidden so students have a great time looking for that monkey. I've used this book with 2nd and 4th graders and they all enjoyed the book.
