Very easy transaction. Unfortunately, though, when the item arrived it didn't quite meet the criteria for "Very Good" condition, as stated in the listing. The outer box as well as every one of the cases and liners inside showed various levels of damage as shown in my pictures. The discs themselves appear to be fine and for $5 it's hard to complain, but I might have considered other listings for the item if I knew the actual condition.

Took 14 days to get here. When received it in tight packaging, was careful getting it out so wouldn't rip it but the cover was already ripped in a way I wouldn't have been able to rip it. Textbook Florida death metal
Monstrosity is no stranger to the classic Florida death metal scene, and no stranger to constant line-up changes either apparently. Oddly enough, this is the only Monstrosity album I own, so I can not do an accurate comparison to their other works. Rise to Power is a cacophony of heavy guitars, tight versatile drumming, deep growls, and amazing solos. In short, this is classic Florida death metal if Ive ever heard it. I would have to say that Monstrosity sounds similar to Malevolent Creation, more than any other band, yet they stand out on their own with their gratuitous use of lead guitars and soloing. I can't ever recall hearing so much lead guitar work going on in a brutal death metal album before, it is nothing short of impressive. The song structures are not very ... The song structures are not very straightforward, though not uber-technical either. As I previously mentioned, the stregnth of this band seems to be its fantastic guitar playing. The drumming is varied and played very well too, so the band is technically proficient through and through. I think the only weak point on the album is the vocals. Though they are delivered well, they sound really generic, almost forcibly generic, as if they could not find another vocalist capable of growling at the time they recorded this album. Rise to Power is not what I would call "catchy", but it is certainly enjoyable. In fact, the only reason why I do not give this a perfect rating is because they practically waste 2/3rds of the last song by filling it with lead guitar "noise" that is thoroughly annoying after the first 30 seconds of hearing it. This is a big pet peeve of mine! Certain bands will make a last track that is an extensive legnth, and we are left thinking, oh cool, I didnt know the band could make a song this legnthy, this should be interesting! Then you listen to it, only to be disappointed that most of it is just ambient noise bullsh*t. I cant begin to explain how annoying and utterly frustrating this is for me. Root did this on their "Black Seal" album, which I very much enjoyed until I got to the promising looking 19 min. last track, only to find out that most of it is just the singer belching the same line over and over and over to the same boring sh*t riff. I have other albums where this kind of thing occurs too, and most of them are very good albums, but for whatever reason, the band decides to put some bullsh*t at the end of the album, and it leaves me with a bad impression of them. Just be weary that this crap exists at the end of Rise to Power, and by all means, end your listen when the "real" last song is over, and you will avoid this frustration. Other that that last song, which I felt I needed to vent on, lol, I highly recommend this album to all death metal fans. Up until the very end, it is very impressive!
