insomnia
I titled this review 'insomnia' since I don't sleep well and I read when I can't sleep. Astronomy seems like apt reading for the wee hours of the morn. This is an interesting book . It has great pictures. It is difficult reading however. One can't help but wonder if Sagan couldn't have made the material a little more accessible. Though I wouldn't really have him dumb it down. I would think it would be a good book for a young person who has a lot of interest in astronomy.I titled this review 'insomnia' since I don't sleep well and I read when I can't sleep. Very informative reading
Was lucky enough to meet and shake hands with Dr. Sagan at JPL in 1981. One of the highlights in my life. His book just extends that moment in time for me.

Great addition to my Personal Library
Nobody can explain the most fascinating scientific phenomenon better than CARL SAGAN. This book is a fine compliment to the 13 part serial "COSMOS" found in many public libraties. This DVD is a must see for all High School kids. I decided to buy as I wanted to refer often to hundreds of facts stashed away in various chapters. Humankind has to migrate trillions of miles, may be in a million years from now, trvelling at the speed of light or more. Can we do it ? to survive. Right now it doesn't look like a possibility. We may destroy ourselves before that. Fortunately many are working towards it.
