It’s a Castlevania Game!

There aren’t really many “bad” Castlevania games. At least not in the decade and a half. Order of Ecclesia has a compelling story, beautiful 2D sprites, and plenty of action to keep you engaged and entertained. Explore, level up, save your progress, and repeat. Couldn’t be happier with this game!

  • Same Bat-time, Same Bat-channel

Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia is, quite simply, another 2D sprite based, side-scrolling dungeon crawler in the same vein of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. This time around, there's not a Belmont in sight and the only clan able to stand up against Dracula are the mages from Ecclesia. They have found a way of mixing glyphs into powerful spells and one such mixture is powerful enough to defeat Dracula. This game was clearly geared more towards hardcore fans of the series because it is HARD! VERY HARD! The stages themselves are only moderately challenging but you will see the "Game Over" screen over and over and over again when you challenge the bosses. I found this to be a mixed blessing as I loved the challenge but I hated how punishing it was for making simple mistakes. For ...

  • Castlevania is Different then I'm used to no Belmont?..

Interesting Story For Order Of Ecclesia. Silly name though heck it doesn't show up as even as a word?..The controls can get frustrating at times where's her whip?..Huge bosses!..Great Sound track! enemies can get at frustrating as well but I think that's all part of the Castlevania series of games out there in today's market not sure though? The game does have it's moment's that you wanna cheer for this character...Shame on you Konami for no Character name even in the Instruction booklet that is inexcusable!..They should at least have a website as Well! Well guess what Konmai has no help for this game..Bad Promotion Konami! And whats the deal that the back is in French and Spanish what the heck?..This is America not Mexico or Canada!..Yes it was bought in the ...

  • Classic DS title that everyone should have

This one is very magic-oriented. It features a bunch of small isolated maps instead of one giant one like in previous Castlevanias. Bosses are challenging but beatable once you figure out their attack patterns. Maybe not the best one to start with if you've never played Castlevania but highly recommend to anyone that has.

  • Game case review

I like the case outside, art reproduction is done well and can pass at a glance as an original case. Since it is not an original case my game does not fit securely into the cartridge slot. It is quite loose and will come off if it is shaken moderately. Otherwise, for my display purposes it works quite nicely!
