'Mediocre Riders'
Sonic games these days are of perpetually waning quality, when compared to earlier 2-D Sonic games, back when two dimensional graphics were the norm. It has to compete with many other 3-D games that are well put together, instead of simply trying to use famous mascot, such as Sonic The Hedgehog, to sell an average at best game.

More fun than expected! Ignore the usability whiners!
After reading some of the poor reviews I was hesitant but glad I bought it - it's a LOT of fun! Yeah, the menu "swipe" feature can be difficult, it's not like a swipe on a smart phone, but if you move slowly and deliberately it works fairly well. The game play is challenging, especially when you're on a skateboard but after a little practice and IF you set up "regular" or goofy foot the correct way, you find it works fairly well. I like reaching for the rings and doing the jumps - what a work out! My son likes riding the rails and all the cool upgrade vehicles you can get as you gain points. In conclusion - Sonic free riders is a really cool game, recommended for Sonic fans, kids, gamers, and people who likes to move a bit ;) The controllers are pretty intuitive, and for sure are unique and pretty much fun if you ask me. (Brings ms back to "Back to the future" :P) I recommend on this game, and I think this is one of the best kinect's games so far.
