Good Dash Cam
I tried a $10 dash cam to see if I would find a personal Dash Cam useful or even if I wanted one for any reason. This camera works well & all videos (1 minute, 3 minute of 5 minute settings) seem to record on the SD card, without error or unreadable videos like happened with a similar $10 camera. I upgraded to a 32gig SD card, which covers a 24 hr period on the settings I have it on. I would actually like to get a unit that takes both forward & rear video, but have not seen any unit that I believe would do this well, so I may mount another unit facing rear, but this would require viewing both camera video in sync to see all angles from both camera, in symc. Low end, good value depending on your definition.
I have another one from some brand I can't pronounce that looks/feels EXACTLY the same, except for button placement on the back... they even have (and fit) exactly the same mount. Both work with equal mediocrity. This doesn't come close to what I expect from Blaupunkt. All dancing around "the elephant in the middle of the room" aside, I don't think it is. This does work some, image flickers some not just live but on playback, too. I'll stick to dash cams that cost what they should to get quality from now on, but this WAS soooo cheap I thought I'd try. Basic dash cam

If you want cheap - this is for you!
The cost of the camera was inexpensive and that is what I received, an inexpensive dash camera. The buttons are extremely small and difficult to operate while driving so, if you don't hardwire this in, turning it on is a rough, starting and stopping video is ok - the same button. The camera is basic and it does record as it was intended. The brand gave me a false sense of a more sophisticated device - the price should tell you differently. Packaging was good, accessories are complete and the mount is of decent quality. Quality of the video is 720p, clearly labeled on the box. Seems to work okay but can't keep the date current.
It is small and fits nicely on the top of the windshield. It has a really long power cable and battery back up. It automatically turns on and off when the car key turns on/off. The only bad thing is I can't get the day/date/time to stay current. It keeps going back to 2017. Bad news if I ever need to show the recorded video after an incident. For this reason I can't recommend it. Update: Its been almost three weeks and while I am driving, the unit turns itself off about every 10 minutes and then restarts about 10 seconds later. It's not overheated.It is small and fits nicely on the top of the windshield. It has a really long power cable and battery back up. It automatically turns on and off when the car key turns on/off.
