      Great part. Was a direct drop in replacement for my Gibson Chet Atkins SST

      The battery box went bad in my SST. I had removed the battery some time ago to avoid any exploding battery issues, but somehow, I still had heavy corrosion on the copper contacts. I couldn't get them to clean up. The cleaning I did do didn't improve the connection. Eventually, I found the big problem, as the negative lead just broke off from the corrosion. The copper contacts were useless, so I decided a new battery box was in order. After looking at pictures online, the Gotoh looked like a match. My old box was actually glued to the back plate, but since the new one was a perfect match, I was able to just take the pivoting section out of the new box and drop it right into the old. After two quick solder connections and heat shrink insulation, my SST was ready to play. Total repair time ...

      The inner latch was stiff enough to make opening it the first time an adventure, but after that it settled down. Could use polarity markings, but there appear to be plastic shapes inside to prevent it from quite fitting the wrong way.

      Musicman Stingray

      Perfect replacement battery compartment for my 2008 Musicman Stingray 4 which was suffering from a corroded and disconnected pre-amp. Thank you for providing a good value accurate replacement as the bass is back up to snuff with a little disassembly and soldering.

      I wish I know better

      I don't think that this is necessarily a bad product, I just don't like the ideas of drilling howl in to my guitar. Now that I know better, I rather have the battery box that come with the ecualyser, and I really like the one with the safety pin lock instead of the Gotoh BB-04 with scrub.
