        Great product at a good price but Garmin specifications are deceiving.

        I like the gps. The specifications for the gps said it was capable of getting traffic information with an external cable or by the Garmin app on a cell phone. I didn’t want to rely on a cell phone for traffic. My old Nuvi received traffic info without a cell phone & I wanted a gps that was independent of a cell phone. Garmin has many such gps’ & I was led to believe the 66EX was one. Now I have to buy a power cable with a radio to get traffic information … an extra cost! Garmin doesn’t even make an acceptable cable for the 66EX. I assumed the radio cable would be in the box with the gps. Garmin support, however, did tell me what cable & adaptor that is necessary to be independent of a cell phone. I dropped off one star due to Garmin specification deficency.

        Not for the weak of heart or quick tempers

        Changes its mind in the middle of an intersection. some times you need to follow the verbal instructions and sometimes the verbal. Its good at correcting the mistake it told you to make. Turn left in 400 feet is not this intersection but the one a 1/4 mile down the road. Intuitive is not a word that that explains this GPS, my Nuvi was much better and simpler to use.

        Easy to use!

        I originally had purchased the Garmin Drivesmart 55 and ended up returning it because it did not say the street names. So, after further looking, I found the 66 ex. It is basically the same as the 55 but it announces the street names. I have only used it once at this point, but so far, I am very happy with it!

        Easy to use, great features

        I already have one in my car, just was looking for one in my truck. Now with both the same, don't have to remember different instructions for two different units. Traffic alerts and the ability to check weather are great.

        Garmin Drivesmart 66 EX - Avoid!

        Thought the Drivesmart 66 EX model had essentially the same features as the Drivesmart 66 (non-EX) model - NOT so! Lots of corners cut and definitely not worth the money. Have upgraded to the 66 (non-EX) and love it!
