My item arrived loose in a plastic shipping envelope. It had been loosely wrapped in a small rolled up paper sack with a piece of tape in the center. The ends were left open, which made it possible for the item to easily fall out and be tossed around in the envelope bag. Not that big of a deal, but I would never send an item without first securing it for shipping.
