    This isn't sensitive!

This looked fine but I put it outside and for a long time it seemed like the needle wasn't moving more than just one or two degrees so I watched it closer and it still didn't move more than that. I figured out that if the temperature drastically changed, then this did too but if it moved 1 or 2 degrees, it just stayed put. It doesn't show the exact temperature, just around the general area by a couple degrees. It's not worth returning but I can't recommend it if you want to know the exact number.

  • Top critical review

    Title is misleading

This so-called outdoor thermometer is not good for outdoors unless you enclose the back with something to keep the dirt/dust out of the mechanism. There is absolutely no backing on these at all. Opened to the environment. This is not a fluke because I bought three of them and all are the same. I am using two indoors and one is off by 8°. The one that I put outdoors has been there for three weeks and it is malfunctioning because of the blowing snow getting into the spring-steel mechanism and jamming it. You don't even get what you pay for with this. Spend your money elsewhere.

  • I would buy it again

I bought it for my husband the wind caught our old one and smashed it to pieces. So when we got this new one he really likes it for the cold temp is in blue the warm is in red he. I would recommend this to others we like it and I'm sure others well also. And the numbers are really big and they stick out so you don't have to squint to see them.

  • Taylor Outdoor Thermometer

I purchased this thermometer and a Taylor 1730 Indoor/Outdoor Digital Thermometer w/Remote ( 262760435864 ) at approximately the same time. This traditional dial thermometer and the the remote sensor for the Indoor/Outdoor Digital Thermometer are mounted about 6 inches apart, outside a rear exterior door. Neither thermometer are in direct sun at any time of the day. The digital thermometer correlates within a couple degrees of the local weather station report. The less expensive dial thermometer is less reliable, often differing from the digital thermometer by as much as 9~10 degrees. The dial thermometer has an exposed coil spring on the back that is connected to the pointer hand on the dial, and isn't what you'd call high tech. I had higher expectations from this old fashioned setup, ...

  • Small and cute

I had purchased two and I planned on putting one in the garage and one outside. The weather has been amazing and great however the thermometer constantly says it's over 100°. I've not really looked at the one in the garage but I can definitely tell you the one I have outside is incorrect. It is cute and it's small but I really don't know what the temperature is.
