The order arrived on a Monday, the first day of the delivery window, even though I got an email message that same morning stating it was going to be delivered on Friday, 4-days late. After a close inspection of the product, it looked to be in new condition; however, it appears to have been unpackaged from its original Toyota packaging and repackaged for shipment to me. This caused concern because I was no longer sure I was getting a brand new product, as advertised. I'm still not positive.

OEM is the way to go
I bought this OEM part as I just bought a used Lexus RX 350. When I do my first oil change, it’ll be good to have a new oil filter housing in case the last person doing an oil change over torqued the filter on. This happened to me once before (cracked the housing getting it off), so I learned to have a new one on hand.

OEM Oil Filter Housing Cap is best option.
This oil filter housing cap is an OEM replacement for the original. Have read several negative reviews about after market caps. It's very important you follow recommended torques when installing the cap and drain plug. Do not over tighten; all threaded parts are aluminum. If you are concerned about male threads cutting the big o-ring when installing it on the cap, wrap painters tape over the male threads, install o-ring. Then remove the tape. Coat both o-rings and male threads of the cap and drain plug with motor oil before installing the cap and plug.This oil filter housing cap is an OEM replacement for the original. The steel housing is far better than the OEM plastic part
Bought it because the plastic housing looks so fragile and heard the cracking noise when my mechanics was trying to unscrew it. I go ahead to order this steel housing intend to replace the plastic housing in next oil change.
