I'm confused by your feedback. I bought these new, took them out of the package myself, and they look exactly like they did when I bought them. The quality of the chrome with any Mr. Gasket parts is not "show" quality, just "good". This set costs $38 new on Amazon, and the pictures there look worse than these do, poor quality plating. I included what I see as excellent close up photos of them, so there would be no disappointments, do they look any different in person than in the photos?

Great unit, but check before buying
You must look at online manual to figure out how to use this. Seeing as it's now a 16+ year old product, things that tend to go wrong with it are: missing antenna, CD player that skips near end of CD, volume button that won't turn volume up loud enough (I just found this problem out on one I recently purchased). The volume and sound on these is actually very good considering it's such a small unit. It is heavy for its size and prone to having the door break off if it falls off your shelf. This is the only radio/sounds/CD/clock that has the constant "wind" or white noise/fan on it. Other similar units have a wind-chime/bells sound instead. This is great for camping when you want to be phone-less but still need some music, alarm, white noise to sleep. You must look at online manual to figure out how to use this. Like I said.....nice well made clock radio with some cool features. But there's no am....its just fm only. Why does it say am/fm but there's no am. Not worth the hassle sending it back. I'll just give it to my son n keep looking for one I want

Nice size but much light
It is a very nice clock radio. It has a nice big size to read without wearing my glasses. However, even when it is set with the lower light, it is still too bright and we need to put a light cloth over it to dim it so we can sleep without the green glow. The settings could be a bit easier; One short tap turns it off, but if the tap is longer it turns up the volume. We are very pleased with our purchase; the numbers are big enough, radio is a nice quality, and once we learned how to use the controls, it is just fine. It is a very nice clock radio. The perfect clock radio alarm
I knew I liked this radio ahead of time because this one is replacing my last one. After many years of constant use, the FM radio band stopped working. I knew I wanted an exact replacement but Timex no longer manufactures these. The only change since i got my first one is that a couple of the nature sounds are different - neither better nor worse, just different. I recommend this alarm highly.
