About this product

Product Information

Forrest Gump stepped out of the pages of Winston Groom's novel, up onto the silver screen, and into the hearts of more than 30 million Americans. If you're lucky, you count yourself among them. Now you can open to any page... and just like Forrest's mama said about life... "You never know what you're gonna get." There are shrimp kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo, shrimp cocktail... over 75 recipes all told, and every mouth-watering one of them heaven-sent. And speaking of heaven, Forrest wanted to remember his mama with these recipes, and his best friend, Bubba, too. And he didn't want Li'l Forrest to grow up without knowing the Gump family shrimp secrets. These recipes are so downright delicious, you'll know that "miracles do happen every day." Forrest Gump has never been a man to complicate things... he's a simple man, but one who "knows what love is." Try some of the shrimp recipes in this book, and you'll know what he means. Forrest's mama loved the South, and its magazine, Southern Living®. "They just have a way with food," she used to say. Try these shrimp fixings, all tested in the Southern Living kitchens, and you'll say his mama was right every time. Even if the President of the United States knocks on your door, you'll have the very thing to put on his plate. Tell him Forrest Gump said to say hello... and to remember his own mama.

  • Has many good ways to cook your shrimp!

These recipes will be fun to try while I am down in Mazatlan! I will buy from the "Shrimp Ladies" and go back to my flat and cook them up! I can't wait to try all of these!

  • Bubba Gump Cook Book

Hi, Don't buy this cook book if you are looking for the Bubba Gump garlic shrimp recipe. There is one for kabobs, but not for the luscious appetizer they serve. We have a Bubba Gump’s here in Colorado at Breckenridge. That is at least 3.5 hours from where I live. Anyway I had this delicious dish in Charleston S.C. three years ago and the taste still lingers on my tongue. The wife and the (2) girls loved it as well. Some of the recipes aren’t bad at all. As a matter of fact, pretty good. Freddie

  • Like is like a box...........

Like is like a box of Chocolates.....you never know what your gonna get. This book is great. I recommend anyone that loves shrimp and loved the Forrest Gump movie to get this book. When I opened the book and read it, it took me right back into the movie, and was quite a delight. Knowing that this truthly simple book was very easy to read, you could still hear Forrest talking as you read each word. It was truthly and utterly a delight. The recipes are wonderful, favorful, and simple. This nice book brings a smile to my face, and it could yours as well.

  • A good idea for a unique gift

I bought The Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Cook book because my Pastor and his family enjoyed going to the resturant when he was pastoring in Fresno, CA. I bought it as a unique fathers day gift for him. The book was good with nice saying and alot of neat recipes, I would recommend the book to those who like sea food and whitty sayings, thank you for giving me the opportunity to give my opinion on this book.
