About this product

Product Information

It's "people simulation" on the Xbox as the most popular PC title in the history of the industry moves to the realm of console gaming. Perhaps the most obvious difference, as the game moves from computer monitors to television screens, is the new graphics engine. The Sims for Xbox is completely 3D. There are several other changes as well though, focused on making the game engaging and appropriate for console-style play, with a controller instead of a keyboard.

Unlike the gradated progression of PC Sims, the Microsoft Xbox version of the game offers level-based play, in which new objects and houses are earned by reaching certain "life's big moments" goals. New objects must be "unlocked," instead of being available (but unaffordable) from the start of the game. The Sims for Xbox also offers new characters and objects that have never been featured in the home computer version of the game or its many expansion packs.

I was expecting to get the holographic cover art like the one in the picture but got the non holographic covert art version instead. The case is definitely not "very good condition" either.

The PS3 game I purchased was advertised as ‘Very Good’ but has a hazy/cloudy white ring about half an inch thick all around the outer edges of the disc. EBay’s states that a game in’Very Good’ condition should be free from any sort of hazy/blemishes on a disc. Attempted to contact vendor about the issue but have been stonewalled..

    Nostalgia Fix

Just like I remember it. Couldn’t beat it 17 years ago. Can’t beat it now. (Gameplay is difficult in story mode) Graphics are what you expect from 2003.

  • The original Sims, not so original after all?

I originally decided to buy the Sims after playing "The Urbz, Sims in the City" on XBox, which was a lot of fun. I only played the game for about an hour, or at least tried to, before I realized it was a waste of both my time and my money. You have to spend far too long "greening" up your sim, and cleaning up after his/her dirty messy mother to do anything else that is essential to keep the game plot moving. All my time was spent keeping my sim somewhat close to happy, and cleaning the pig sty her mother created... and all the while the game is telling me to get a job? Oh, right... did I mention that I was also expected to fix the TV, and the sink as well as a few other things also? Yeah, just one more thing to take away from being able to enjoy the game even slightly. I think they ...

  • Awesome game

The Sims for xbox ps2 and gamecube, best sims ever. Love this game so much. The music, the old graphics, the sound effects and that weird talking.
