I have cut approx 3 ton of old railway sleepers with this chain and it going great. 30 % of the sleepers were a bit soft but the remainder were really dense and tough. As with any hardwood you need to increase the bar oil flow for additional lubrication. The chain does not seem to stretch as much as standard chains but still requires some ongoing adjustment.When I asked some competitors if their chain would tackle railway sleepers they all said no way,also cheaper than converting to Stihl 0.062
